Bariatric Surgery had many complications in its beginnings, but that was 15-20 years ago! New technology and techniques have been developed since then and although the procedure is fairly safe, little has been done to make people aware of it. Check this article from Forbe’s, it supports what Dr. Moon has been telling us all along!

This Wednesday I will again be heading to Haiti for a week of surgical mission work in St Louis du Nord, on Haiti's north coast. We will be located at the Northwest Haiti Christian Mission, an organization that has been helping to provide medical, surgical and maternal care as well as care to orphans, special needs children and the elderly for almost 30 years. If you would like to support the mission information on their work can be found at www.nwhcm.org.
This year I and several other members will also be going as part of a newly founded non-profit organization, World Health Partnerships. Our goal is to facilitate better medical care to underserved areas in Haiti and in other countries as well in the future. Visit our facebook page for more information: World Health Partnerships
Despite the rough living and working conditions (though not nearly as bad as what most of the population deals with on a daily basis...), it is always very fulfilling and refreshing to work with a team of servant-hearted medical providers, as well as compassionate hard working non-medical team members, and amazing missionaries and Haitian locals eager to share the love of Christ with the people around them. It's also humbling and rewarding to provide care to those who otherwise have no access to surgical services.
Your prayers are much appreciated, for safety and protection for the team and the patients we serve, and that we would faithful in fulfilling our purpose for being there, both as individuals and a team.
